The best of Golden Age violins are no better than the best of contemporary violins (made like 2 days ago).
It kinda supports my opinion on brand (as in "expensive") vs non-brand (as in "less expensive") discussions. I consistently prefer non-brand products over branded one of the same quality because why pay more.
