I have not tried GPS on blackberry. My cell phone does not have a gps unit, but google map tries to figure out its location by comparing the signal strength from the cell towers. So it locates it, in my home area, within a mile or less; in a more urban area, within a fraction of a mile. Not very useful for on-driving directions, but very useful for location-based points of interest. And location-based maps.
I'm planning to use it for driving directions, tracking my routes, syncing photos with locations by timestamp. I wish cameras had GPS unit, but since I already own sub-pro and beach cameras without it, I figured I can use smartphone for that purpose.
